A number of current works by artist Nina Molloy. Born in Bangkok and at present based mostly in London, Molloy attracts from photographic and printed supplies that relate to her Thai and British heritage. Via repeated acts of translation—{photograph} to print, textile to portray—Molloy creates compositions that discover how home supplies, equivalent to curtains and mattress sheets, evoke embodied reminiscence and transformation. Her use of muted colors and impressionistic layering speaks to the fading of reminiscence and the instability of illustration:
“I paint locations and issues that I’d wish to see clearly, to expertise and enter into. As soon as materialized, I can go into it with my physique and new issues emerge. They remind me that I compose the world I see, and being moved by some influence of that world, the best way I’m seeing it modifications.”
