To the editor: It’s laughable that former President Trump calls Vice President Kamala Harris lazy. That is coming from a person who spent extra time on the golf course than every other president. (“Trump denigrates Harris as ‘lazy,’ invoking a racist trope against Black people,” Oct. 22)
However what will not be laughable is the accompanying photograph of Trump supporters. Their proper arms are raised, harking back to the Nazi salute. Heads bowed, eyes closed, they’re praying for a convicted felon, an adjudicated sexual abuser, a person who incited an riot to remain in energy.
Somebody who mishandled a pandemic leading to an estimated 200,000 pointless deaths. Somebody who embraces our adversaries and alienates our allies. His lies are dangerous and harmful, most lately about migrants consuming pets and federal catastrophe employees who’re offering emergency help after devastating hurricanes.
Is that this what blind religion appears like?

To the editor: As a Black man for Trump, I reject the headline of this text. It suggests Trump is utilizing a racist description of Harris when he calls her lazy.
That’s The Occasions’ interpretation of his comment, not the which means he supposed. The Occasions ought to persist with reporting details and go away interpretation of them to the reader.

To the editor: The prayer salute appears disconcertingly just like the salute we used after we stated, “I pledge allegiance to the flag,” and which was dropped after I was in grade faculty throughout World Warfare II as a result of it seemed an excessive amount of just like the Nazi salute.
I don’t suppose even now Jesus wish to be saluted.
