Amongst those that put their lives into the arms of individuals smugglers are all method of determined migrants from these searching for political asylum to these pushed by starvation.
However what if these smugglers are cooperating with safety individuals with the intention to keep in enterprise? That is a query that haunts Shima Babaei, whose father Ebrahim disappeared late in 2021 whereas attempting to flee their native Iran.
He was an opponent of the regime who paid a gang to smuggle him to Turkey to hunt asylum. BBC Persian’s reporter Jiyar Gol has been attempting to unravel the thriller of what occurred to Ebrahim Babaei.
