To the editor: Almost 200,000 ballots have been flagged for signature issues in California. Despite the fact that many of those have been verified, greater than 83,000 votes weren’t in a position to be counted.
If this isn’t a sign that we have to train cursive handwriting in class, I don’t know what’s.
And that is solely California. What about the remainder of the nation?

To the editor: I’m 80 years outdated. My signature has by no means been constant.
It began as given identify, center preliminary, final identify. After I acquired my driver’s license, I dropped the preliminary. This lasted via voter registration, I feel.
By the point I used to be writing prescriptions, it was “P Mauer” besides on authorized paperwork equivalent to my will. In any other case, it has deteriorated to a barely legible scrawl.
I actually don’t know which one I used to register to vote.
