    New Foxconn’s iPhone manufacturing unit is being established on the Data Expertise Funding Area (ITIR) in Devanahalli.

    New Delhi:

    On Saturday, Karnataka’s Minister for Commerce and Industries, M B Patil, introduced that the Taiwanese electronics large Foxconn’s unit on the Data Expertise Funding Area (ITIR) in Devanahalli is almost able to launch, with industrial shipments of iPhones anticipated to start out as early as June. He talked about that Foxconn serves because the contract producer for the iPhone. Patil emphasised that this improvement represents greater than only a manufacturing milestone; it alerts a strategic shift for India because it more and more turns into Apple’s most popular hub for manufacturing in gentle of rising geopolitical tensions and tariff pressures. 

    He famous that this development not solely enhances Karnataka’s standing in world manufacturing but in addition paves the way in which for elevated overseas funding whereas safeguarding stakeholder pursuits.

    This has come at a time when Apple has encountered resistance from Washington, D.C., relating to its aggressive ma.nufacturing enlargement in India. On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that he has urged Apple CEO Tim Cook to not proceed with constructing and increasing the corporate’s manufacturing operations in India.

    Patil relayed that Apple CEO Tim Cook dinner had confirmed that a good portion of iPhones bought in the US throughout the June quarter might be produced in India. He expressed satisfaction on this achievement, stating that it’s a second of honor for Karnataka, highlighting the connection between Mysuru and Cupertino.

    The corporate has secured 300 acres of land within the ITIR Industrial Space, located within the Doddaballapura and Devanahalli Taluk of Bengaluru Rural District. Within the 2025-26 Price range speech, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah introduced that Foxconn has initiated the institution of a cell phone manufacturing plant within the Devanahalli Industrial Space, with a capital funding of Rs 21,911 crore. He revealed that the Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) would offer the corporate with an incentive of Rs 6,970 crore.
