When Alan Arkin died in 2023, his obituary landed unceremoniously within the California part. Like Hackman, Arkin was the recipient of many awards, together with an Oscar. A lot of his characters have been legendary, and I don’t perceive why he wasn’t given the identical accolades and front-page consideration. He was simply as nice an actor.
