An unexploded World Warfare Two bomb submerged in an Italian river has been revealed because of an excessive drought.
The 450kg (1,000lb) bomb was discovered by fishermen on the banks of the depleted River Po.
Giant sections of the 650km (400 mile) river have dried up in Italy’s worst drought for 70 years.
Some 3,000 residents close to the Lombardy village of Borgo Virgilio had been reportedly evacuated so bomb disposal specialists might safely perform a managed explosion on Sunday.
