“As Governors, we stand collectively—Republicans and Democrats—in condemning political violence in each kind. The incident as we speak in Utah involving Charlie Kirk is a stark reminder that violence has no place in our democracy, in our states, or in our communities.
“Our accountability as Governors is to safeguard public security and defend the democratic establishments that make America sturdy. Disagreements should be addressed by means of dialogue, debate, and the democratic course of; not by means of intimidation or hurt.
