CJ Roseberry, who’s a social employee, stated the cuts will “undoubtedly influence” the households they work with, particularly with college students in Philadelphia returning to highschool Monday.
“So most of the youngsters are getting to school on public transportation, they usually’re not in a position to have their caregivers give them rides into faculty as a result of they both don’t have a automobile or they need to to work themselves,” Roseberry stated.
Of the varsity district’s 198,000 college students, round 52,000 use SEPTA to get to and from faculty.
“It’s simply going to be harder,” Roseberry stated. “It’s grief, in a way. It’s an enormous sense of loss for lots of our households.”
The bus routes which have been eradicated are: 1, 8, 12, 19, 30, 31, 35, 47M, 50, 62, 73, 78, 80, 88, 89, 91, 106, 120, 126, 133, 150, 201, 204 (Sept. 27, 2025), 206, 311, 452, 461, 462, 476, 478, 484, BLVD DIR and MANN LOOP.
