Russian-backed officers in 4 occupied areas of Ukraine are holding self-styled referendums on becoming a member of Russia.
Denounced as illegitimate and a sham by Ukraine and the West, these so-called votes are going down over 5 days whereas all 4 areas – two within the east and two within the south – are on the entrance line.
An annexation may result in a declare by Russia that its territory is coming below assault from Western weapons provided to Ukraine.
