The US congressional committee investigating final 12 months’s Capitol riot has voted to subpoena former President Donald Trump to testify within the inquiry.
Rioters stormed the US Capitol in Washington DC on 6 January 2021 in an effort to overturn the president’s election defeat by Joe Biden.
The committee panel, made up of seven Democrats and two Republicans, voted unanimously for Mr Trump to testify underneath oath in reference to the riots.
If he doesn’t comply, he might face legal costs and imprisonment.
