ULAANBAATAR — Mongolia is in political turmoil as Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai races to regain belief forward of an anticipated confidence vote in parliament.
Allegations of lavish spending by his son sparked widespread outrage and raised questions in regards to the legitimacy of the prime minister’s wealth. Younger protesters have taken to the streets for days, chanting slogans and demanding that he both disclose his revenue or resign, implying it will be simpler to do the latter.
