A 43-year-old girl and three boys, aged 15, eight and 4, have been killed in a home fireplace in Brent, north-west London.
The emergency providers had been referred to as to the blaze in Tillett Shut, Stonebridge, at about 01:20 BST.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on the scene on suspicion of homicide and stays in custody, the Met Police mentioned.
An additional two individuals had been taken to hospital, the Met mentioned. Their circumstances haven’t been disclosed. Two terraced three-storey houses had been concerned within the fireplace, which was introduced underneath management by about 03:25, the London Fireplace Brigade (LFB) mentioned.
Eight fireplace engines and about 70 firefighters from stations throughout Wembley, Park Royal and Willesden had been despatched out to deal with the blaze.
“A girl and a baby had been rescued from the second flooring of 1 property by crews carrying respiratory equipment and obtained rapid emergency care,” the LFB mentioned.
“Each had been sadly declared deceased on the scene by a Helicopter Emergency Providers (HEMS) group.
“Two extra kids had been found contained in the property as crews carried out firefighting operations and had been declared deceased on the scene.”
Supt Steve Allen, from the Met’s native policing group in north-west London, mentioned: “That is a particularly tragic incident and our ideas are with everybody concerned… we proceed to work alongside investigators from the London Fireplace Brigade to determine the reason for the hearth.”
Emergency providers will stay in Tillett Shut all through the day as inquiries proceed, the Met added.
