Tens of hundreds of Palestinians have returned to northern Gaza, celebrating regardless of the devastation. Authorities report 300,000 made the journey inside 72 hours after Israeli forces opened the Netzarim hall. The UN estimates most buildings throughout Gaza have been destroyed, with northern Gaza hit hardest. Many now shelter in ruined UN buildings with little entry to meals or water. Displacement since 2023 left households homeless the longest. Returning Palestinians reject any proposals to relocate them overseas, vowing to remain regardless of the cruel situations.
