China has stopped issuing short-term visas to people from South Korea and Japan in retaliation for Covid restrictions on Chinese language travellers.
Visas for South Koreans getting into China have been suspended, Beijing’s embassy in Seoul stated, with Japanese media reporting China had imposed related measures there.
Beijing says the rule will stay in place till “discriminatory” entry restrictions towards China are lifted.
