Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, Commander of the IRGC Navy, has warned that the presence of international forces within the Persian Gulf threatens regional safety and serves international agendas.
Nationwide Persian Gulf Day, he highlighted the historic and strategic significance of the area, noting Iran’s 1,735 km of direct shoreline and 5,800 km together with its islands.
Tangsiri emphasised the Persian Gulf’s financial significance, citing that 62% of the area’s oil and 40% of its pure gasoline exports cross via the Strait of Hormuz.
He mentioned Iran ensures day by day safety for over 80 vessels transiting the strait.
He warned that international powers exploit the area to justify army presence and enhance arms gross sales by manufacturing threats.
“Peace, safety, and brotherhood are our objectives. However those that come from hundreds of miles away don’t search peace,” he mentioned.
Highlighting the historic expulsion of Portuguese forces in 1622, he urged regional nations to reclaim safety from outsiders. “Safety should come from inside. We won’t permit the Persian Gulf to develop into a playground for international interference,” he concluded.
