Authorities in Somalia say 26 individuals have been killed and scores injured in an Islamist assault at a navy base north of the capital Mogadishu.
Senior military commander Col Abshir Shataqey and quite a lot of different troopers died when al-Shabab stormed the power, which was seized from the militants in October.
The most recent preventing comes a day after the federal government introduced it had recaptured the important thing port of Haradhere in central Somalia, which had been underneath jihadist management for years.
