ROANOKE, VA – Justice and equality are timeless battles that proceed to form our world, and proper right here in our neighborhood, these very important matters are being explored in recent and significant methods.
Dr. Forest Jones, a neighborhood writer from Salem, is about to launch his new e book, Good Bother: The Selma, Alabama and Derry, Northern Eire Connection 1963-1972, Tuesday, April 1.
To have a good time, he’ll be internet hosting occasions at Barnes & Noble in Roanoke’s Valley View Mall on Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m. and a Q&A and signing on the Salem Public Library on Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m.
In Good Bother, Dr. Jones dives into the highly effective connections between the Black Civil Rights Motion within the U.S. and the Catholic Civil Rights Motion in Northern Eire. He highlights how the Montgomery to Selma march influenced the 1969 Belfast to Derry march, exploring the origins, protests, and key figures that formed each actions.
He joined us within the studio on Sunday to debate the e book and its modern-day connections to equality.
