The M23 rebels have launched a recent offensive together with Rwandan forces in DR Congo’s mineral-rich east days after declaring a unilateral ceasefire. Intense clashes broke out yesterday because the M23 rebels and the Rwandan troops seized a mining city within the area, as per experiences. They’ve captured the city of Nyabibwe within the South Kivu province, round 100 kilometres away from the provincial capital, Bukavu, and round 70 kilometres away from the closest airport.
