LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — In celebration of Girls’s Historical past Month, the Mad Hatter Gallery in Las Cruces is showcasing an exhibit titled “A Room of Her Personal.”
The exhibit attracts inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s iconic essay “A Room of One’s Personal,” first revealed practically a century in the past. In her essay, Woolf argued that artistic girls want time, area, and financial freedom to really thrive.
Organizers mentioned the theme is mirrored within the exhibit, which showcases the work of 13 girls.
The exhibiting artists embrace Nyssa Barrick, Juliana Coles, Mary Diesel, Helen Geglio, Linda Guenste, Sandy Hill, Barbara Houghton, Jaswant Khalsa, Heather Murphy, Abby Osborne, Brea Sargent, Leslie Toombs, and Lesli Zerr.
These artists reside in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Corrales, Las Cruces, South Bend, Indiana, and Alpine, Texas.
The exhibit will run from March 5 to March 29.
The First Friday opening reception will probably be held March 7 from 5 p.m. to eight p.m.
The gallery is positioned at 221 N. Most important St., Suite C, Las Cruces, NM.
The gallery’s hours are Wednesday to Friday from 11 a.m to five p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to three p.m.
