Kurdish political events within the Kurdistan Area have largely welcomed PKK chief Abdullah Ocalan’s name for disarmament and a peaceable decision to the Kurdish concern in Turkey. In his message, Ocalan urged the PKK to put down arms and shift to a political wrestle, an attraction that many see as a possible turning level in Kurdish-Turkish relations.
