    Skype has introduced it’s closing from Might.

    The web chat and cellphone service, which is owned by Microsoft, made the announcement on X.

    It stated: “Beginning in Might 2025, Skype will now not be accessible.

    “Over the approaching days you may register to Microsoft Groups Free together with your Skype account to remain related with all of your chats and contacts.

    “Thanks for being a part of Skype.”

    Microsoft made no speedy remark when contacted by BBC Information.

    Skype was launched in 2003 and was then purchased by Microsoft in 2011 for $8.5bn (£6.1bn).

    The video calling service was as soon as one of the crucial well-liked web sites on the earth, as companies and people embraced video calls.

    As Microsoft once outlined, Skype grew to become built-in with the corporate’s different merchandise comparable to Xbox and Home windows units.
