A minimum of 9 individuals have been killed within the newest clashes between members of rival ethnic teams in India’s northeastern state of Manipur, police mentioned, as safety forces pressed on with a hunt for unlawful weapons.
Violence between members of the Kuki ethnic group, who largely stay within the hills, and Meiteis, the dominant group within the lowlands, erupted on Could 3, sparked by resentment over financial advantages and quotas in authorities jobs and schooling reserved for hill individuals.
