US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held “candid, substantive, and constructive” talks with Chinese language International Minister Qin Gang in Beijing, the State Division stated.
Sunday’s talks marked the beginning of the highest-level journey by a US official to China in practically 5 years because the rival superpowers purpose to stabilise strained relations.
“The Secretary emphasised the significance of diplomacy and sustaining open channels of communication throughout the total vary of points to cut back the chance of misperception and miscalculation,” State Division spokesperson Matthew Miller stated.
Blinken invited Qin to Washington, DC to proceed discussions, added Miller.
