Imran Khan’s Supporters Attain Islamabad Defying Police Ban, One Killed in Clashes
1000’s of protesters rallied to demand the discharge of former prime minister Imran Khan, clashing with police as they marched into Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. Over 20,000 officers, armed with shields and batons, had been deployed, whereas the federal government shut down cellular web, citing “safety issues.” Tear fuel and rubber bullets had been fired as protesters eliminated roadblocks set as much as cease convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces. Islamabad banned public gatherings for 2 months and closed colleges and universities for 2 days. Inside Minister Mohsin Naqvi warned that anybody trying to occupy D-Chowk, a key protest website, can be arrested.
