NIIGATA, Nov 29 (News On Japan) –
Tokyo Electrical Energy Firm (TEPCO) has introduced plans to load nuclear gasoline into Reactor No. 6 of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Energy Plant in Niigata Prefecture by June subsequent 12 months as a part of efforts to restart the power.
Each Reactor No. 6 and Reactor No. 7 on the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant have handed the Nuclear Regulation Authority’s security inspections, a prerequisite for restarting operations. Reactor No. 7 has already been loaded with nuclear gasoline.
In a press convention held this morning, TEPCO outlined its plan to load nuclear gasoline into Reactor No. 6 subsequent June and said its intention to submit the required purposes to the Nuclear Regulation Authority for the restart course of.
Nevertheless, native consent stays a key hurdle, because the Governor of Niigata Prefecture, Hideyo Hanazono, has but to take a definitive stance on the matter. Consequently, TEPCO has kept away from specifying a timeline for the reactor’s restart.
