A BRITISH Airways pilot has tragically died between flights on the paradise island of St Lucia.
The 47-year-old Senior First Officer collapsed in a luxurious resort in entrance of surprised holidaymakers yesterday.
BA was compelled to cancel Flight BA2158 from the Caribbean, which was on account of land at London Gatwick at 08.50 as we speak.
Devastated crew are returning to the UK on one other flight tonight.
A supply mentioned: “This tragedy has left British Airways employees surprised and deeply upset.
“The Senior First Officer was highly regarded and his demise was fully out of the blue.
“He was the life and soul; a very standard man and simply 47-years-old outdated. He collapsed all of a sudden in a public space.
“It’s so unhappy that this has occurred and everybody has been hit for six.
“Bosses have dealt with the tragedy in an extremely delicate manner and employees can communicate to a educated counsellor if it helps them.”
The crew on board have since been supplied counselling by bosses.
BA executives had been liaising with authorities in St Lucia and aiding the skilled pilot’s shattered household.
The airline’s flights to Grenada and St Lucia from Gatwick airport are rammed with holidaymakers looking for solar, luxurious resorts, reef diving, fishing and picturesque rainforest trails.
British Airways informed The Solar: “Our ideas and condolences are with the household and associates of our colleague at this tough time.”
