The European Fee President has paid tribute to the individuals of Lampedusa, saying they’re doing all they will to assist the unprecedented variety of refugees and migrants arriving from elements of Africa.
However Ursula von der Leyen says the EU must step up its efforts to cease traffickers.
The United Nations says 8,500 individuals have come to the Italian island simply this week alone.
There at the moment are extra migrants in Lampedusa than residents.
