Taiwan: Former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je Arrested In Graft Probe
Former Taipei mayor Ko Wen-je, who leads the Taiwan Individuals’s Get together, was arrested on August 31 in a graft investigation. The probe includes the event of a serious property within the Taiwanese capital. Ko, who served as mayor from 2014 to 2022, was taken into custody after investigators raided his house and occasion headquarters, and questioned him for a number of hours. Ko has denied any wrongdoing associated to the approvals he granted for the mission throughout his time period. In an announcement, the Taiwan Individuals’s Get together urged the courtroom to scrutinise the legality of the arrest process.
