The federal government of Alberta has pulled its help for a bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Video games because of rising prices.
Tourism and Sport Minister Joseph Schow stated the invoice was estimated at C$2.7bn (£1.5bn; $2bn) – a burden “too excessive for the province to bear”.
The organiser of the Video games has stated it’s “sorry to listen to that Alberta is now not growing its bid proposal”.
Final month Australia pulled out of internet hosting the 2026 Video games in Victoria because of price range blowouts.
