Army chiefs from the West African regional bloc Ecowas are assembly to debate the deployment of a standby drive for attainable army intervention to revive democracy in Niger.
The gathering is going down on Thursday and Friday within the Ghanaian capital, Accra.
Not less than 11 of the bloc’s 15 member states again a army deployment to reinstate the democratically elected president, Mohamed Bazoum, after diplomatic efforts did not yield any constructive consequence.
Niger’s coup leaders have warned they may defend themselves towards any intervention.
