To the editor: This week’s Irony Award goes to Doyle McManus for his Aug. 24 column, “Donald Trump’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Convention Week.”
McManus states in his lead that Trump’s “political superpower has been his feral expertise for seizing media consideration.” Then, he goes on for a whole column with a day by day account of Trump’s terrible week, full within the print version with a big photograph of the previous president.
Please, Mr. McManus, fight this political superpower with your personal inexperienced kryptonite superpower: the very column you’ve been given. Report on the numerous horrible, horrible, no good, very unhealthy, overwhelming challenges our residents, our nation and our planet are confronted with every week slightly than the whining of this man.

To the editor: Whereas Trump was having his horrible, horrible, no good, very unhealthy week, we Democrats have been having fun with a tremendous, inspiring, very productive, superb week.
By the way in which, most Californians I do know go about their lives having by no means been murdered, assaulted or accosted by human traffickers or drug sellers aiming to get them hooked on fentanyl. It’s tiresome and annoying to listen to the fixed vilification of the Golden State.
Alternatively although, if Trump hates us, we have to be doing one thing proper.
