Steve Soboroff, appointed to steer the town of L.A.’s restoration effort after final month’s fires, seems to be a profitable businessman. But Bass authorized his wage of practically half one million {dollars}, to be funded totally by charitable organizations, for 3 months’ work. Did it not happen to her that the charitable donations for that wage ought to go towards aiding all these people who’ve misplaced each single factor of their lives?
Ultimately, Bass reversed course and stated Soboroff would work without cost. However I’m unsure what was worse — Bass at first approving the wage, or Soboroff accepting it.
