Sparked by a Netflix drama a few sexual harassment scandal, Taiwan’s ongoing wave of #MeToo accusations has compelled society to confront problems with sexism and the way it treats abuse victims who make their instances public.
Since Could, high-ranking politicians, tutorial figures, actors and celebrities have been entangled in #MeToo scandals, with among the accused trying to reclaim the narrative from alleged victims.
Some harassment victims have mentioned they have been impressed to talk out after watching the Taiwanese Netflix drama “Wave Makers”, which offers with a sexual harassment scandal amongst political marketing campaign staff in a fictionalised model of the nation’s ruling Democratic Progressive Occasion.
